Legitimate arguments could be made for Ryan, Salmon, Anderson, and Guerrero; but as I compiled the list of all-time greatest moments in Angels’ history, it became clear to me that Ryan should be #1. By himself, he was responsible for three of the top 50, and played a major role in another (and that was after combining his four no-hitters into “one” moment). Just imagine what he could have accomplished if he’d had a decent offense supporting him. As it was, he carried the Angels through the 70’s.
